Event Details

Many people have asked us to do a safari at the Smithsonian’s  National Zoo. Here, finally, is a special Safari designed by popular photo instructor (and kid-at-heart) Melanie Otto for camera-loving kids 6-12, accompanied by their parents. After giving them basic camera instruction, Melanie will send the kids and their parents off around the Zoo to "bag" a particular list of critters, that covers several letters of the alphabet, such as "L" for leopard, "Z" for zebra, "E" for elephant, "C" for chimpanzee, and "P" for Panda, or letters which spell a word that Melanie gives out. The winning team gets a prize! Is this cute, or what? Any digital camera is acceptable.
